Short Biography
Panagiotis Stergiou was born in Preveza, Greece in 1962. When he was 6 month old his family moved to Germany. He return to Greece at the young age of 14.
Stergiou started off playing the classical guitar but quickly switched over to the bouzouki after being inspired by the playing of the great Zabeta. He attended the renowned music school of Themis Papavasiliou for 1 year where he further developed his musical knowledge and technique on the bouzouki. Stergiou started playing professionally at the age of 14.5 and since then he has collaborated with all the great instrumentalists, singers and song writers in Greece.
He first entered the recording studio in 1985 alongside Christos Nikolopoulos on one of Paschali Terzi's albums titled "Ethniki Thessalonikis". Since then, Stergiou has recorded hundreds of albums and is regarded as one of the top bouzouki soloists in Greece today. His upcoming project will feature a recording of Bouzouki instrumentals.
