Short Biography

Nikos Tatasopoulos was born February 21, 1973 in Silver Spring, Maryland.

He began playing bouzouki and performing on stage with his father the legendary  soloist and composer John Tatasopoulos, at the mere age of 3. Later studies inluded  classical piano and Jazz guitar alongside Spiros Antonellos. His performances continued  nation-wide alongside his father untill the age of 19 whern he then moved to Athens Greece  to persue a carreer in music where he continues to reside these days not only performing and recording but also teaching as well.

Throughout his carreer he has worked alonside both on stage and in the recording studio with the following artists : Giorgos Dalaras, Marinella, Tolis Voskopoulos, Litsa Diamanti, Antonis Vardis, Giannis Vardis, Eleni Dimou, Giorgos Sarris, Glykeria, Kostas Tournas, Themis Adamantidis, Kaiti Garbi,  Ilias Klonaridis, Eirni Merkouri, Alexia, Zafiris Melas, Katerina Korou, Stamatis Kokotas, Dimitris Kokotas, Poly Panou, Giorgos Margaritis and many more.

Some soloists that he has worked along side include Stelios Zafeiriou, Dimitris Bizas, Christos Konstantinou,  Manolis Karantinis, Panagiotis Stergiou, Thymios Stouraitis, Iordanis Tsomidis.

Nikos currently owns the following instruments. A 1927 Mouratidis originally owned by a friend of Iovan Tsaous. A 1957 Panagis originally owned  by Manolis Hiotis. A 1959 Panagis originally owned by Yannis Tatasopoulos. A 1961 Panagis originally owned by Yannis Tatasopoulos, a 1965 Onnik  Tsakirian originally owned by Yannis Tatasopoulos and his latest addition...a 1959 Zozef trichordo.
